London& Belfast, October 4th, 2011 – Kainos and the Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust beat off competition from more than 15 contenders to win the much coveted Best Public Sector Project award at Thursday evenings, Document Management 2011 award ceremony.
Ipswich was recognised for its successful deployment of the Kainos Evolve clinician-focused EDM solution which is delivering on its goal of freeing up the vital flow of information across different points of care and improving patient care and Trust efficiency.
Now in its fifth year the DM awards have fast established themselves as one of the ‘must-attend’ calendar events for the sector. Using a combination of online voting and an expert judging panel the awards span a range of product and project categories and this year saw a significant increase in online votes with social media technologies like Twitter and LinkedIn playing a big part to promote the event and the categories.
The winners were announced at a glittering awards ceremony attended by several hundred people from the DM industry at the Hotel Russell in London on 29th September 2011. Kainos is no stranger to awards and is a past recipient of a DM Award with its client, Havant Borough Council.
This is the first award for Kainos’s flagship healthcare solution, Evolve™ and is testament to the collaborative partnership with Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust and Neil Turnbull and his team in particular. “We are honoured to have been lined up against such strong competition and to have won this award,” comments Neil. “It is an endorsement of the commitment and backing that Evolve has received across the Trust from clinical staff through to GPs and across nursing and administrative staff and this has revolutionised the way the Trust uses information to improve patient care and outcomes.”
Deirdre O’Neill is head of the Evolve healthcare division at Kainos and delighted to see Ipswich scoop the award, “Ipswich has lead the way with Evolve and inspired many other Trusts to do the same so this is a much deserved win by Neil and his team. In the past 12 months alone Ipswich has hosted in excess of 20 site visits from other Trusts keen to see the systems and understand the processes. This replicability is one of
the key, unique elements of this project and has seen another 5 Trusts follow their example in a very short period.”
Ipswich Hospital is also an award finalist in this year’s EHI Awards being held in London on Thursday 6th of October.
