Kainos awarded landmark project to help Land Registry build its LLC Register Service

Land Registry has chosen Kainos to help Land Registry build its LLC Register. The LLC Register, which will consolidate local authority registers into a single, digital register, will house over 26 million LLC records, making them easily accessible and searchable. Land Registry has tremendous reach and importance. Responsible for registering the ownership of land and property across England and Wales, it safeguards ownership worth more than £4 trillion. Today, Local Land Charges are held in a variety of physical, electronic and digital formats, all managed separately by 326 local authorities across England. The LLC Register Service will address this by bringing the data into a single, reliable and secure database, held centrally by the Land Registry. Kainos will be responsible for building the central register, hand-in-hand with Land Registry's in-house development team.The initiative will improve the efficiency of searches, which cover Tree Preservation Orders, Smoke Control Orders, Listed Building status and more.
